Joseph T. Durnherr Jr., a businessman, sportsman and photographer, died suddenly April 7, 2003. He was 55.
Born in Rochester, Mr. Durnherr graduated from Edison Technical High School.
Athletically inclined and encouraged by his father, he became an enthusiastic snow and water skier. As a mountaineer, he reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in 1999.

With a background in graphics and printing, Mr. Durnherr owned and operated the Laminating Arts and Finishes business in Rochester for 28 years.
“He was extremely kind, always there to help and to fix. He was a great role model,” his wife Patricia said.
Formerly of Irondequoit, Mr. Durnherr had most recently been residing in Webster.
